"But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Corinthians 15:57)
The waiting was long; the anticipation great. Many prayers were uttered. They fasted too. Deliverance was their petition; saving their lives their requests. The blame game had subsided as all joined with one voice petitioning God’s throne room. Would He answer? Would the king see his wife Esther? Would their lives be spared? Those were anxious moments for the Children of Israel living in the Kingdom of Persia. They were all slated to be executed; not just because Mordecai – one of their own – refused to bow to Haman; but because Haman, enemy of God’s people, was out for revenge!
Queen Esther could’ve kept quite and save herself (maybe); but that would do no good. She was placed in a position of trust, influence and power. She had to do something, even if it cost her life! Praise be to God, who giveth us the victory. Victory was hers. She took the risk and victory was hers and her people!
The enemy of souls is out for revenge-revenge against Christ. You and I are his pawns. Even though victory has already been won by Christ, the devil will not give up. As many of us that he can take with him to hell, he will! So, his strategy is to perplex us on every side. He will try to get us discouraged, careless in maintaining a close relationship with Christ, place obstacles in our way that obscure our vision; take our possessions and even our lives-if allowed, and many other things that we can’t even imagine. You have-we all have experienced his workings. But we thank God for the victory in Christ.
Like Esther, we too can go to the King. He has won us the victory! So, take back your life. Like Jesus, seek to spend more time with the Father, allowing Him to lead and guide you. Keep your eyes on the big picture and you will understand why certain things are happening to you. Then, in Jesus’ name, claim the victory God has given you. You are victorious, in Christ.
The words of the songs say “Tell me who can stand before when we call on that Great name, Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus, we got the victory.” “We have our share of ups and downs, victory is ours today. We’ll not be defeated anymore. Since we know the power we have in Jesus name we’ll not be defeated anymore.” Let us call on the name of Jesus. Shout it out in your hour of testing. Deliverance has come. Victory is yours. Do not let the devil defeat you anymore.
Believe it and claim it!
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the victory you’ve given us through Christ. Thank you for the assurance that we’ll not be defeated anymore. Please help us to claim our victory, in Jesus’ name, we pray, amen.
