Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. (Mark 9:23)

His child was possessed by evil spirits which were destroying him. Dad realized that death would be the destiny of his child, unless he gets help. Like any good parent, he tried many things to rid his son of those evil spirit but nothing worked. He feared that his child may be thrown in the fire or water again - and the next time, no one maybe there to save him. Dad's priorities were changed, his focus and was now on his devil possessed son. He needed help, but who can or who would? He remembered Jesus. Oh yes, Jesus can, but would He?

There isn't a child of God who does not face challenges, impossible situation from time to time. For some, it is a daily experience - sometimes a continuous challenge. We've prayed, put our faith into action, prayed some more but still nothing happened. We've asked, seek, knock: but still nothing is happening - or so it seems. Like this father, we know Jesus can help, but we sometimes wondered, would He?

Jesus' response to the questioning heart of this father was, "If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth." His answer to our situation is the same, "all this are possible to him that believeth". In an immediate revelation, the father realized that he did not fully believe his son could be made well or that Jesus wanted his son to be well. Dad wanted it but he did not really believe - look what he had been through! Dad kept his eye on the challenge but not on Jesus!

Do you believe your situation can be changed?

"And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief." Mark 9:24 Upon acknowledging his belief in Jesus that He could make his son well again, the son received healing. What about you? Do you believe your situation can be changed for the better?

Father in Heaven, thank you for this lesson. We sometimes pray but our hearts are filled with unbelief. We do believe Father, help thou our unbelief and convert our challenges into successes, we pray, in Jesus' name, amen.
