“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isa. 41:10 (NKJV)
Like a refreshing glass of cool water on a hot and humid day; like a cold shower or a swim in a fresh water river after a hard day; like morning dew on the plants in my garden; I rose this morning to the beautiful reminder that God is with me and I should not fear. As I opened my laptop to read God’s word, His beautiful promise greeted me with open arms; saying, “fear not, for I am with you; and I will help you.”
Lately, I have been bombarded with so many challenges and perplexities. It seems I am hedged in on ever side. I run to God for help and release; and though it seems slow in coming, I must hold on and keep believing that God will help me. His time is not mine.
This morning, His promise to me, the first words I read without even looking for them in the Bible, is a sure answer to my prayers. God will help me. I do not need to fear. I knew it before. But, somehow, His promise held new meaning. I was relieved as the assurance crept over my soul that He has taken my hand, He will strengthen me and He will help me. I do not need to go it all alone. He is right by my side. He is with me. I do not need to be afraid.
The storms in my life may not be over physically, but spiritually they are over. With the peaceful assurance that God is by my side, that He is holding my hand, I am comforted that He will see me through my storms. Just like the disciples at sea on a stormy night, the assurance that there’s nothing to fear with God by their side is even mine this morning. I do not need to be afraid of the challenges the day holds. God is with me and He has taken my hand. I will be okay irrespective of whatever may comes my way.
And you will be too. God’s promise is for all His servants. He has chosen you. You do not need to fear anything or anyone – not even those who are incensed against you. Those who strive with you shall perish. Those who contended with you and those who war against you shall be as nothing. God will help you. You do not need to fear economic recession or principalities and powers. Whatever you are going through, just remember that God is with you, and He will help you. Fear thou not!
Oh my Father, thank You for Your warm embrace and the assurance and confidence that Your words instills. Hold my hands Lord, and I will not fear whatever may come my way because You are with me and You will help me. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
