To Become A Miracle

By: Anna Bokova

You live. You're happy just because you're here on this Earth. And you're here for a reason. The One who created you has given you unique possibilities. You possess the heart to love and the hands to create. Your smile has power to turn someone's dull day into a lovely one. You can do so much to make this world better by using your talents...

But...

There is an enemy who may destroy your happiness and deprive you of all the wonderful successes you may achieve. Maybe you think he is the devil. Not exactly! The enemy I'm talking about is just one of the devil's obedient slaves. His name is Your Fears.

Just stop for a moment and think about the point. Your Fears as an actor may change its masks but his mission is always the same: to paralyze the best in you, not allowing you to become the person God meant you to be.

Every one of us is different. My Fears differ from Your Fears, but all of us have them deep inside of us despite our efforts to look confident. But, being honest with myself, I admit that My Fears are reality.

Where is the way of escape? How can I live using all of the opportunities God is giving me every day? How can I get rid of My Fears?

There are a lot of psychological methods we are given to become free and whole individuals. But the problem is: trying to fight on your own, you will surely be a failure. God says in His Word that we can do nothing without Him (John 15:5). So the main point is to admit that only God is strong enough to overcome Your Fears.

It's so easy to discuss the theories, but I want to share with you some practical tips that work in my life while the Lord is working to make me free from My Fears. (Well, healing is a process; in most cases it doesn't happen overnight!)

1) Open your fears before God. Talk to Him about them and ask Him to make you free.

2) Concentrate on God's promises. Take time and efforts to make yourself repeat His Word in your thoughts or out loud.

3) Think of Bible characters who have overcome their fears and got through very difficult situations: for God was with them!

4) Create a support group. Find people to share your heart with, who will pray with you, instead of just trying to give their piece of advice.

5) Teach yourself. God has made you the ruler of your inner world, so be the wise ruler. Again and again repeat to yourself phrases based on God's truth. For example: "God is making me a mature person. I should meet the changes bravely, for He is with me."

These tips are working if persistently followed. Let us give our fears to God and allow Him to make us free. Only then we'll have the life He has promised to us, for He wants us to live "more abundantly" (John 10:10). Only then each one of us will Become a Miracle and glorify our Creator.
