John Spellman preaches at the Beit Shalom SDA Church in Manhasset, NY. Sermon is based on Jeremiah 28. The story of a false prophet, named Hananiah, who contradicts Jeremiah's message. With two prophets saying entirely opposing things, how could a person decipher which message was really from God? Was it the popular message? Was it the message everyone wanted to hear? With so many opposing voices in today's world, how can we know which one is truly from God? What did the people of Judah, during the reign of Zedekiah, choose? How does this compare with what people are choosing today? How can we know when God is speaking to us? Many choose to be blind by refusing to see. But we can know the truth!
How should we conduct ourselves in the work place? Can God use us to be a blessing to those we work for and with? Should it matter how a representative of God behaves in the work place? Does religion have a place at work? What do you do when your boss, co-worker, or supervisor is unreasonable, critical, and untrusting? What happens when someone knew comes in and changes everything you used to love about work?
This video is from the Class D, 2007-2010, Inspirited Network broadcasts on stickam with Joseph Williams and John Spellman covering topics related to Salvation and Christian Living. Videos are in standard definition since the broadcasts were done before the studio was built.
How can we make friends for God and share our faith with others? How powerful can a personal testimony be? Why? How much should we share? How did Mary,Peter, John, and Paul use their testimonies to reach others and witness to the world? Is a personal testimony always convincing? Why does a changed life matter? What if your testimony wasn't like Paul's?
The Bible teaches about a day lost in history. A day God designed for us to remember. This week's lesson uncovers the mystery of this forgotten and lost day.
Like the great multitude of old, we can rejoice that our promised King came. He lived and died; but that’s just the beginning. The grave couldn’t hold Him. He will come again: and this time, we will never part! Are you ready for His return? Do not let the event pass you by. Contrary to popular belief, you will not have a second chance if you are left behind. The King is here. He’s even at the door.
Her questions made me realize how much of a divine appointment this had been. Here was a woman who was searching for God. Here was a woman who was thirsting after the life that He offered, but who did not know how to find it. And God sent me, who had just an hour earlier been so unwilling to work, to find her and help guide her along the way.
As I reflected on this story and the setting, I found myself thinking about supper time in Heaven. I seemed to be thinking about Heaven more and more these days and my constant prayer is to be ready to go. I am not afraid to die. I just want to be ready to meet my Savior in peace. And so, I gladly answer His call to come home. Supper time with Jesus in Heaven is almost here. It’s suspended in space between two verses in Revelation. But any day now, supper will be served.
