This week we study the essence of the Great Controversy over God's character. Why is God on trial? Why does God need to vindicate His character to anyone? What were Satan's lies about God and how has God chosen to respond? God created beings that are free moral agents. What does this say about His government as king of the Universe? Can there truly be a merger of justice and love? If God was only love, or only justice, what would that mean for us?

John Spellman preaches at the Outreach SDA Church in St. Albans. The focus of this message is on Galatians 4:28-31. Paul uses the story of Hagar and Sarah (the bond and free woman) as an allegory for the Old Covenant and New Covenant church. But how might this feud between the two women illustrate what goes on in our Christian experience today? How can we learn from this story? Both women had children (Ishmael & Isaac) by the patriarch Abraham, and both had expectancy toward the inheritance. However, only the child of the free woman would be the heir. What does that mean for us today?

God has a special message proclaimed through His end time people. A message of warning about His judgment. Does God's judgment take place before or after the second coming? How does God know whom to give His reward to? What is this special warning message that must go to all the world? What does it have to do with the investigative phase of the final judgment? Why is it that only the Church gets judged? What will happen to the wicked? These questions and more are explored in this week's lesson.

This lesson explores the antitype of the Day of Atonement. What does it mean for new covenant Christians today? Why does the sanctuary need cleansing? How does the religious / political little horn power of Daniel 8 exalt itself against the "Prince of the Host" and cast down the daily? Is Satan still raging war against God's people today? Are signs and miracles proof of God's hand at work in something?

This lesson explores Jesus as our priest in heaven. How does Jesus intercede on behalf of humanity? What does it mean to be a priest after the order of Melchizedek? What are the similarities and differences with the Aaronic priesthood? What does all this mean for us as Christians?

This lesson explores the penal substitution necessary to forgive the sins of humanity. Why did Jesus need to come to earth as a human being to forgive sins? Could it have been any other way? The lesson discusses Jesus as the second Adam and explores the sacrifice of His life and what it means for humanity.

Prophecies of Hope Seminar: night 12, unsealing the mysteries of Daniel-- the End and a New Beginning. John Spellman preaches at the Babylon SDA church on the final night of the seminar.
John Spellman preaches at the Babylon SDA Church on Daniel 9: "Always on Time". Explores the Messianic Prophecy of the coming of the Messiah giving the exact date of the beginning of His ministry.

In this week's lesson we discuss the "Day of Atonement". Specifically, how God deals with the record of sin. Was there more to Jesus' mission than just the cross? What secrets did the ancient Day of Atonement service have for Bible believers today? What happened on the Day of Atonement? What did the two goats represent? Why was the Azazel let loose into an uninhabited land? What was the High Priest's job? How did it typify the work that Jesus does on our behalf? What does the Day of Atonement have to do with us today? All this is explored in this week's lesson.

This week we explore the purification offering of the sanctuary system. This offering was also known as the sin offering. What was the purpose of this offering? How does it illustrate the way in which God deals with man? What did it teach the Israelites about how God removes sin from the sinner? We also explore three categories of sin: unintentional sin, deliberate sin, and rebellion. The substitutionary nature of the sacrificial system is explored as we delve into this topic.

John Spellman preaches at the Babylon SDA Church in Babylon, NY. Sermon is based on Haggai 1:1-7. In ancient Judaea, after the 70 promised years of captivity, the people began to return to their homes. They built up their own houses while leaving God's House in ruins. The New Testament describes the body of every Christian believer as the "Temple of God". In many Christian lives today, God's altar is still in ruins because we focus on the temporal to the neglect of the Spiritual.

In this week's broadcast the sacrificial system is discussed. Several Bible examples are given as we explore the meaning of sacrifice and what it was designed to teach. What are the hidden meanings behind sacrifices and offerings? Does God still require sacrifice today? Who made the first sacrifice? Why are some offerings accepted and others rejected? What was the purpose behind God's test of Abraham? These questions and many more are explored in this week's lesson.
