God calls Moses for a purpose in the land of Midian, speaking to him from the burning bush. Why did God choose a burning bush to call Moses? What meaning did it have for him and for us today? Many are going through a wilderness experience not realizing that God may be calling them for a purpose.

Elder John Spellman preaches at Babylon SDA about parenting and the upbringing of children. How should parents relate to their children? Is it a good idea to be your child's friend? Do we really show love to people when we don't correct them? How does God, as a parent, deal with us as His children? As Christians, if we refuse to correct others, do we really show them love? This sermon focuses on the story of Eli and his two sons.

John Spellman preaches on the true meaning of Christmas. Though Jesus wasn't born on December 25th, the Christian world commemorates His first advent. But why did Jesus come to this world as a baby? What was the purpose of His arrival? What hope is there in the first coming of Jesus for people today? What are we really celebrating in the Christmas season? Was Jesus really the Son of God? Why was He called Immanuel? These questions are explored as we discuss the true meaning of Christmas.

John Spellman preaches at the Beit Shalom SDA Congregation discussing roadblocks in our faith. How can traditions and customs block us from being able to experience a relationship with God? Should traditions influence how we understand God's Word? What did the prophets think about anything that contradicted the Torah and the testimony? Is it possible that today, with the abundance of YouTube scholars, and misinformation, that many have darkness thinking they have light? While some traditions can be a good thing, many customs and traditions are holding people in darkness.

As Jewish people celebrate the feast of Sukkot, Christians should be reminded of what it meant and what it pointed to in prophecy? What if I told you it had a hidden meaning that was significant for our time today? Was the feast of Tabernacles only a commemoration of freedom from Egyptian bondage? Or was there something it pointed to in the prophetic future and the ministry of Jesus? Why did God want the people to dwell in booths? We will take a brief look at salvation history as good and evil struggle for custody of humanity in the Great Controversy.

John Spellman speaks on Luke 17, focusing on the 10 lepers whom Jesus healed. Of these 10 lepers only 1, a Samaritan, returned to glorify God. What can we learn from this powerful story about our relationship with God. Are we like the 9 lepers who never returned? Or are we like the one that glorified God?

John Spellman preaches at the Beit Shalom SDA Congregation on 2 Kings 4:38-44. During a time of famine in Gilgal, the sons of the prophets were hungry. Elisha tells them to make a pot of stew. But in one man's effort to gather the ingredients, he accidentally introduces a poisonous substance to the stew pot. The sons of the prophets proclaim that there is death in the pot. How can this relate to our Christian experience today? What is in the stew pot of our lives? Do we sometimes poison ourselves without knowing it?

Have you ever felt like God was too late? Have you ever had a delay in your answer to prayer? If God loves us, why doesn't He always answer requests right away? When Lazarus died because Jesus was delayed for two days, they might have had similar questions. Jesus taught them a powerful lesson about what happens when people think God is too late. John Spellman preaches at the Beit Shalom SDA Congregation.

John Spellman completes his 3 part series on the 3rd Angel's Message discussing the final test of the end times. Who will receive the mark of the beast? How can we obtain the seal of God? Who is the beast and what is the beasts mark? How does one avoid the mark? What end time conditions will confront God's people? Should we be afraid? How does faith play a role in the survival of God's people?

John Spellman preaches part 2 of the 3 part series on the 3 angels message: Babylon Is Fallen. What does this message mean for the church today? God is calling a people out of Babylon. But, is it possible to recognize what the Book of Revelation meant by Babylon? Is there still a false system of worship that is uniting with the world against God today? Who is the great harlot of Revelation? How does it influence and play a role in the system of confusion that exists today? What is God telling Christians in order to prepare them for the final crisis?

John Spellman speaks at the Patchogue SDA church on the story of Daniel in the lion's den and it's connection to our time today. Is it possible for unjust laws, policies, or rules to be made which threaten God's faithful followers? What would you do if you had to choose between standing for your faith or compromising with the world? Can a Christian always get along with everybody? Does God still deliver people in times of trouble today? Discover how the worst things can begin with good intentions.

John Spellman preaches at the Beith Shalom SDA Congregation on the story of Jonah who was commanded by God to go to Nineveh, but made plans to go elsewhere. In many ways believers are doing the same thing today. Has God called you to something that perhaps you don't want to do? Are you living a life that is contrary to God's plan for you? Have you been brought to a solitary place so that God can redirect you? If so, you might be going through a Jonah experience. When we make other plans, God steps in to correct our paths and to reach people around us.
