What is the relationship between faith and works? Should our faith motivate us to do works? Is it possible to have faith and take no action on it? Was there a difference between what Paul said about faith and works in comparison to James? What does it mean to have true faith? This week we continue our study of the book of James looking at faith that works.

James had a lot to say about love and law. He corrects the church, rebuking the partiality and favoritism of the wealthy while many neglected the poor. James discusses how partiality transgresses the law of love. But how? Is there more to the law than we understand at surface value? Does the fairness with which we treat each other impact our keeping of God's Commandments? Can a person keep the Commandments yet not care for the poor? Can one be a Commandment keeper and be wealthy? What does love have to do with God's Law and justice. We explore these topics this week.

What is the relationship between works and faith? What does it mean to be doers and not hearers only? What are we expected to do? How can our faith be made practical? What does it mean to be unspotted from the world? Is what God expects of us really possible?

What does James mean by perfection? How is our faith perfected? What is God's means of helping us to grow in faith? Does God expect the impossible? Is it really possible to pray without wavering? Why does God want our faith to grow. This week we explore these topics and how they impact our faith experience.

How are we led away from God and tempted to do evil? Who is to blame? Can the devil make us sin? What does it take to endure temptation? How can we overcome temptation? What method did Jesus use to combat temptation? What does this mean for us today? We will examine the first temptation in the Garden of Eden and how Jesus overcame temptation as we explore the implications for Christians today.

What were Jesus' brothers like? Did people in His household believe in His mission? What is the back story behind James? Which James wrote the book of James? Is there any way to be sure? How was the life of James transformed by Jesus? What message could that have for us today? Who was the Bishop of Jerusalem? This week we explore these fascinating mysteries delving into the life of James the Just.

What did Jesus teach about his second coming? Why does He return to the earth? Can we know when He will come back? Can we know what to look out for? What does the Old Testament tell us about the Day of the Lord? What is the reward that Jesus brings with Him, and how is it determined who gets the reward? This week we explore the second coming of Jesus.

What did Jesus teach about life after death? What is the Biblical teaching of resurrection all about? Why did Jesus often refer to death as a sleep? What happened in the examples in scripture where Jesus raised the dead? Jesus taught that He is the resurrection and the life. The Son has power to give life to whom He will. In this lesson we explore that power and what it means for us today. We also examine the parable of the rich man and Lazarus.

What did Jesus teach about the Sabbath? Did Jesus really break the Sabbath or do many Christians misinterpret his actions? What did He mean by the phrase Lord of the Sabbath? What does it mean to do good on the Sabbath? Did Jesus observe the Sabbath Himself? This week we tackle these questions.

What is the mission of the church? To whom did God entrust the gospel commission? Do our choices impact the outcome or destiny of souls? What did Jesus do to equip us for this task? What does it mean to witness? What exactly do we bear witness of? Should a Christian be a secondary source? How does the Bible use the symbolism of light and darkness? These questions and many others are explored in this week's lesson.

Jesus prayed for the church to be united, but what were the grounds for that unity? What were the unifying factors of God's church? How can we put unity into practice? What or whom did Jesus say was the foundation of the church? What rock is it founded upon and how can we be sure? When conflict arises amongst brethren, what steps can we take toward conflict resolution?

What does it mean to live like Christ? How exactly did Jesus live and what motivated his actions? What does a Christ-like life look like today? Is it humanly possible? Can we truly learn to love one another the way that He loved us? This week we explore what it means to live like Christ.
