How does scripture unit the Church? What is servant leadership and what does it look like? What does it mean for Christ to be head of the Church? What role does the church play in the salvation experience? How does Bible study and church discipline play a role in preserving church unity? How is the church organized for mission?
Who are we suffering to teach? Who informs the way we think? The way we live? The way we relate to each other? Or how we meet the challenges of life? If not God, then who? Based on Revelation 2:18-24.
John Spellman covers the message of Amos. Do religious rituals and practices really give us unrestricted access to God? Is there something more important than the rituals we do at Church? Are their times when God won't accept rituals He, Himself, put in place? What does it mean to "Seek the Lord, and Live"? Why does our society confuse good and evil when God seems to have a particular view of good and evil? These questions are explored in this study.
This video is from the Class D, 2007-2010, Inspirited Network broadcasts on stickam with Joseph Williams and John Spellman covering topics related to Salvation and Christian Living. Videos are in standard definition since the broadcasts were done before the studio was built.
The Bible teaches about a day lost in history. A day God designed for us to remember. This week's lesson uncovers the mystery of this forgotten and lost day.
He had it all! Life was good. Yet he was so restless. He wondered what life was like on the other side of town – a place he had never been. He had never been to the movies, never entered the doors of a night club, and never partied until day light. He had never dressed in ‘bling’ clothing, nor had he ever had a drink. He was sure all the fun was on the other side of town. Yet, here he was-- living like ‘old people’. No fun, just the same everyday stuff!
As He goes through your records and mine, what will they reveal? Have you been naughty or nice? Does it matter? What’s important is that all your sins are confessed to Jesus Christ, not to a representative. We must turn away from practicing them. Since the process has begun with the dead, we can be certain that He is now examining the recorded entries for the living. You and I do not know when He will call our names – if it hasn’t already been done. Therefore, it means that we have no more time to be naughty, to practice sin. We are now living in our Yom Kippur – our Day of Atonement. Now is the time for us to put away our sins and be clean, or else we will be cut-off.
Did you know that God assigned each person guardian angels for our protection and care? It’s true. You have your own personal body guard who is assigned to be with you at all times. However, your guardian angel will not remain with you when you deliberately participate in sinning. He will cover his face and leave you. But it is assuring that God’s care is there for us – even without us asking.
