Topic: The Sanctuary System

This lesson explores the penal substitution necessary to forgive the sins of humanity. Why did Jesus need to come to earth as a human being to forgive sins? Could it have been any other way? The lesson discusses Jesus as the second Adam and explores the sacrifice of His life and what it means for humanity.

In this week's lesson we discuss the "Day of Atonement". Specifically, how God deals with the record of sin. Was there more to Jesus' mission than just the cross? What secrets did the ancient Day of Atonement service have for Bible believers today? What happened on the Day of Atonement? What did the two goats represent? Why was the Azazel let loose into an uninhabited land? What was the High Priest's job? How did it typify the work that Jesus does on our behalf? What does the Day of Atonement have to do with us today? All this is explored in this week's lesson.

This week we explore the purification offering of the sanctuary system. This offering was also known as the sin offering. What was the purpose of this offering? How does it illustrate the way in which God deals with man? What did it teach the Israelites about how God removes sin from the sinner?
