Leah Jacob made the wise decision to pray instead of complaining. She sang and talked praises to God instead of scheming like her husband and father. She had no need to hide false gods when she left home because the God of Heaven was her Father, comforter and friend. Because of her praying heart, God turned her disappointments into triumphs, into appointments. He will do the same for you and me.
He had been so steeped in sin; well, that’s what he thought of himself and his friends concur. He could never change. The worldly lifestyle was his thrill and giving it up was unimaginable. The girls, the drinks, parties and more; that was his life. After all, he was young and it was his life to live. But God had other plans! God choose a new direction for his life-a direction that led to a total change of both the inner and outer man.
An interesting translation of Saturday in other languages… What’s really interesting is that “Saturday” by that name, came about from Pagan Rome. It means Saturn’s Day. It replaced the word original name (Sabbath) of the Seventh day but yet we can still see where that name remains.
