In your Christian life, are you lacking spiritual power? Are you struggling with problems and finding it difficult to be obedient to God’s commands; to spend time in prayer and communion; is your prayer recited; is your worship ritualistic; is it difficult to share your faith? If you answer yes to any of the above then you need to be energized by The Holy Spirit.

Like Judas, Balaam’s covetousness led him down the path of no return. Even after returning home, discontent filled his heart on the riches he could have gained, hadn’t God controlled his speech. He was bent on having the riches he so desires – even if it meant going against God’s will. You see friend, when we are bent on sinning, God will step aside and allow you to do as you please. The Spirit of God does not always strive with man. To his own eternal loss, Balaam, once a prophet of God, is forever loss to the riches of eternity. Don’t be like Balaam or Judas. Beware of covetousness!

Spiritual sight is the Holy Spirit’s conviction to our conscience, helping us to recognize our state of sinfulness. I love to call that process the eyes of conscience. You see, irrespective of how morally good many of us are, in the eyes of God, our righteousness is really just filthy rags. By our good works, we are unable to measure up to God’s standard of righteousness. Therefore, we need the eyes of conscience to see our real status.
