One of the reasons why we feel alone is because like Naomi in the story of Ruth, we push people out of our lives. In the same way we often push God out of our lives at times when we most need Him. God sends people into our lives to give us comfort, encouragement, wisdom, and strength. He created man a social being. Sometimes we're alone because we push others away trying not to get hurt.
Pastor Michael Mirra interviews Boro Bacev: an ex-homosexual sharing his testimony on surrendering to God and walking with Jesus as a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. After his conviction through a sermon by Doug Batchelor, Boro no longer identifies as a homosexual. Instead, he shares thoughts on his victory over sin, the modern day compromises in the church, and how to share faith with the LGBT community without compromising Bible principle.
What can we learn from Revelation 4-5. Who are the 24 elders? Who are the 4 beasts? Why is Jesus represented as a lamb with 7 horns and 7 eyes? What is in the scroll sealed with 7 seals? As we study this scene in heaven we’ll gain insight into a worship experience in heaven as Jesus is deemed worthy to open the book as the redeemer of humanity and God is worshipped as the Creator.
Why did Jesus have run-ins with the scribes and pharisees? Were the accusations against him true? Was Jesus a breaker of the Sabbath? Did He view the Sabbath as important? What was His message regarding the Sabbath and the legalistic regulations of the religious leaders? What message might this have for us today? Jesus invites us to take part in His rest. But what kind of rest was He talking about?
The Bible teaches about a day lost in history. A day God designed for us to remember. This week's lesson uncovers the mystery of this forgotten and lost day.
Her husband deprived her of the one thing every wife needs – to be loved by him. His eyes were fixed on another that he and everyone thought was more beautiful. It didn’t matter to her that he was tricked into marrying her. All she wanted was to be loved by him. But he loved her younger sister. And not even the years of hard labor would stop him from taking her as wife. One husband with two wives – who are sisters! What an unhappy mess!
I love a clean space! Be it my house, car, Church, or wherever I may be - I just love when I am in a clean and well kept space. When I cleaned my house from ceiling to floor, it is so much lighter, I think clearer and I sleep better! I love a clean house, not just for Sabbath but for the entire week. Everything must be clean and in order. It makes chores on Preparation Day so much easier. It takes time, energy (a really sacrifice) to keep your space clean. But it pays. And to think Jesus’ expectation of us is similar: for us to keep our bodies ‘clean’ everyday!
Daniel knew that the judgment was coming because God revealed His secret to Daniel (Daniel 7:9). He was assured that it wouldn’t happen in his time but it was certain. As he was permitted to view down the corridors of time, Daniel must have shivered at all that would transpired. He was comforted to see the ending. The court was set and the devil’s dominion would be taken away forever.
