This week we discuss the "daily" in depth. What is this "daily"; mentioned in Daniel 8? What does it have to do with Jesus and His ministry in Heaven? How did Satan cast it down with the truth and what does this mean for believers today? The truth about the daily is exposed as we delve into how the counterfeit system of worship was set up to undermine the true worship of God.
What is the mark of the beast? Everyone seems to have an opinion. Can we know for certain? To understand the mark, we must first understand the Beast. Who or what is the Beast? Contrary to political interest groups, there are at least 11 reasons why it can't be Obama! But if not him, then who? Can we know with certainty or only add to speculation? This lesson uses Biblical principles of interpretation: allowing the Bible to interpret itself.
If beings could talk to us from outer-space, what would they say? Would they warn us of something to come? The Bible gives us a message from three beings--angels from outer-space. In this lesson we will explore the three angels' messages and the gospel that must go to all the world prior to the second coming of Jesus. This message has special importance for us today.
Jeremiah has a very human response to his pain and suffering resulting from being rejected as he spoke the Word of the Lord. What lessons can we learn about suffering and going through hardship resulting from standing for our faith? Will God's people today have a similar experience? What did Jeremiah learn about his weaknesses and what God does in spite of human weakness? How did Pashur respond to Jeremiah? What was God trying to say to the people of Judah? Is prophecy conditional or always fulfilled once a prophet utters the words?
Who were the last five kings of Judah? How did God reach out to them? What was there response to the message of Jeremiah the prophet and God's Word? What lessons can we draw from this for our time today? What made many of the kings of Judah so stubborn? How was Josiah's reign different? What did Josiah do during his reign that contrasted the other kings and what message does that hold politicians in today's time? In this lesson we cover Josiah, Jehoahaz, Jehoiakim, Jehoiachin, and Zedekiah. We explore the events that led to the Babylonian captivity and the parallels with today.
This week we start a new quarter on the book of Jeremiah the Prophet. How was this prophet called? What can we know about his background and ministry? What exactly is a prophet's job? What kinds of messages does God send through prophets? How does God communicate with prophets? Are they always willing to accept the call? Will people readily accept their message? In what way was Jeremiah's experience similar to that of Jesus? This week we take our first look at Jeremiah.
Has the plan of salvation always been all inclusive? Was it always God’s plan to save the entire world, or only a select group of people? What can we learn about the plan of salvation from the Old Testament? What was the purpose of the Nation of Israel? How did Jesus fulfill the prophecies of the Old Testament? What does the Great Commission reveal about the role of the Christian church and Christianity in Jesus’ mission to save the lost? What can we learn from the parables of Jesus about how Jesus viewed salvation and the role the church should play in it?
