When He assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters would not transgress His command, when He marked out the foundations of the earth, (Proverbs 8:29 NKJV)
Crime and violence continues to dominate the news. But even more subtle is the eroding of basic principles that we were taught to observe. Recently, it was the ‘talk of the town’ that a well respected organization was found to have overstepped their bounds; in that, they’ve secretly gone through ‘the back door’ and away from the prying eye of the public, to encourage state-controlled children to embrace homosexual lifestyle. The public was outraged when the news broke and many were wondering, how could we secure our children’s purity when the world seems to be embracing homosexuality and all it stands for?
Still, many are worried about their safety and are afraid to speak out against atrocities that are affecting us. Many are afraid that this lifestyle is so widespread they fear repercussions should they honestly voice their opinions. With all that’s happening, it would seem that if you aren’t agreeing with this ‘new’ movement, you are or will be ‘alienated’. God’s people seemed troubled.
The promise is to you and yours: “Let not your hearts be troubled.” Continue to believe in God!! I stop by to tell you, fear not! Because just as God has appointed a boundary for the sea so that the waters come no further than the shore, it’s the same way He has appointed protection for His children. Provided you follow His instruction, you have nothing to fear. God will help you. In-spite-of the storms around you, He will keep you in perfect peace if your mind is stayed on Him.
Did you know that God assigned each person guardian angels for our protection and care? It’s true. You have your own personal body guard who is assigned to be with you at all times. However, your guardian angel will not remain with you when you deliberately participate in sinning. He will cover his face and leave you. But it is assuring that God’s care is there for us – even without us asking.
In 2 Kings Chapter 6, it is recorded that the King of Syria sent his army to capture Elisha because the Prophet, who wasn’t privy to the king’s plans kept revealing them. Elisha’s servant arose early one morning to see Dothan City surrounded by the Syrian army. He was afraid. Prophet Elisha prayed that God would open his servant’s eyes and what a startling revelation awaited him. “The mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha”(vs 17). God had sent His own army of angels to protect Elisha. What followed is hysterical. Prophet Elisha asked God to smite the Syrian army with blindness. And God did. They could come no further than God allowed.
Our God is an awesome God! He reigns over Heaven and Earth! He who created Heaven and Earth is your creator, your Father. He can stop the mouth of the avenger. He can turn back the destroyer. He “Who taught the sun where to stand in the morning, and who told the oceans you can only come this far, and who showed the moon where to hide till evening, whose words alone can catch a falling star.” He is Nicole Mullen’s Redeemer and He’s ours too. In continuing, Nicole said: “The very same God that spins things in Orit, runs to the weary, the worn and the weak. And the same gentle hands that holds me when I’m broken, they conquered death to bring me victory.”
Nothing will happen to you unless God permits it. You do not need to be afraid or be troubled. The raging waters of the sea can come no further than He permits. It’s the same for troubles. God said, “Come no further”. If He brought you to it, He will see you through it. They can come no further.
Thank You Father God for Your protective care. Thank you for being right on time in Your deliverance. May we trust Your wisdom and rest patiently in You, knowing You’ll work it out for our good. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
